Speaking Tips

Why work with a Speaking Coach?

Unlike generic training courses, a speaking coach will customise and personalise coaching - just for you!

Voicemail

Listen to your own voicemail message - can you clearly understand it?When leaving a 'phone message, speak slowly, make it brief and say your phone number last of all!

Ums and Ahs

To avoid distracting Ums and Ahs when speaking, you need to break the habit of "uming and ahing" - so before you say an "um" or "ah" etc - simply pause instead. Pauses are useful - many speakers don't pause often enough.

Breathing

Three or four deep breaths, not at throat level, but at diaphragm level, will give you a calm but alert feeling before you move to your speaking space and deliver your opening lines!

Three steps

Your Speaking Coach PLUS technique PLUS practice = will get you where you want to be in life. There is no more valuable asset than your speaking voice!

Your 30 seconds "Elevator Speech"

Clear, concise and inspires ACTION!

"Hi, my name is Sofia - I'm a public speaking coach and my company is Speak2us.com.au. Unless you're speaking to yourself - you are always speaking in public - what does YOUR voice say about YOU? "

If you are being introduced by an MC/Facilitator

Always write your own introduction. Send it to the MC before the event and take another copy with you. Manage your speaking environment as much as you can. Eliminates errors and adds to your confidence!

Whether you are an Executive, Academic, Presenter, in Sales — or anywhere where you interact with an audience — individual coaching at Speak2us will help you find your unique voice and become an authentic, more confident and effective speaker and communicator.
